Inari is heads-over-heels in love with Tanbabashi, the cool basketball player at her high school. She watches the team play, but she acts like a bit of a clutz around him. One day she rescues a fox cub near a temple that she’s fond of and the local goddess takes notice of her. After accidentally alienating Tanbabashi and believing that a classmate has cozied up to him, the goddess reveals herself to Inari and grants her one wish – to become that classmate.
